FAQ

Quick answers to common questions.

What's the difference between points and real money?
Points are free practice currency—no real value, just for fun. Real money is actual USD you can deposit and withdraw to your bank. Start with points to learn how everything works.
Do I need to know anything about crypto?
No. We use blockchain technology under the hood, but you'll never need to think about it. You see dollars, you pay with your card, you withdraw to your bank. It just works.
Can I change my prediction after I join?
No. Once you're in, you're in. Commit to your call.
What if no one else joins my pot?
If the pot closes with only one side having positions, it gets voided and everyone gets their money back.
What if the referees don't vote?
You can nudge them with a reminder. If they still don't vote, the pot stays open until they do. Pick reliable referees.
Can I be a referee and also have a position?
Yes. Referees can participate. Just call it fair—your friends are watching.
How long do deposits take?
Card and Apple Pay are usually instant. Bank transfers can take 1-3 business days.
How long do withdrawals take?
Debit card withdrawals are usually same-day. Bank transfers typically take 1-3 business days.
What happens if a pot is disputed?
The referees decide. That's why you pick people you trust. If there's a real issue, reach out to us.
Is there a minimum or maximum I can put in?
The pot creator sets the stake amount. There's no platform-wide minimum or maximum.
What if Sidepot shuts down?
Your money is in your wallet, not ours. Even if we disappeared, your funds would still be there. That's the whole point of being non-custodial.
